The Board of Directors shall consist of a maximum of twelve members. Board members shall serve on committees as needed, be responsible for affairs of the association, recommend amendments to the Bylaws and transact business in accordance with IDA's Bylaws, goals, and Articles of Incorporation.
Board meetings are held on the first Thursday of each month at 8 AM, unless otherwise specified. Additionally, IDA Hoppy Hour meetings take place quarterly, providing an opportunity for the IDA to connect with the community and share information about upcoming projects, initiatives, and events.
Attendance at the monthly board meetings is mandatory for board members, as is participation in at least three of the four Hoppy Hour meetings, unless an absence is excused due to illness or other extenuating circumstances.
If your application is accepted, you will be invited to join the board as a Participating Board Member. This role requires attending four board meetings and engaging in discussions and planning. While Participating Board Members do not have voting rights, they can assist with events, projects, volunteer recruitment, and lead committees. After the four-month period, if you wish to continue with the IDA Board of Directors, you will transition to a Board Member at Large, gaining full voting rights.
